It works in partnership with a network of Lottery Retail Centres, Manitoba’s hotel and restaurant industries, and Veterans' organizations throughout the province. Manitoba Lotteries is committed to providing a quality gaming and entertainment experience for its customers in a socially responsible manner. Net revenue from Manitoba Lotteries' operations is directed back to the Province to support programs in health care, education, community and social services and economic development – over $304.8 million in 2008/2009. The Corporation generates close to 4000 direct and indirect jobs in the Manitoba economy. Under its community support programs, Manitoba Lotteries directly supports over 800 organizations and fundraising events annually. Manitoba Lotteries provided $5.9 million to non-profit community organizations through the Casinos of Winnipeg Bingo Volunteer Program and by supporting Manitoba events and charitable organizations through our Community Support Program. Manitoba Lotteries employees’ charity program, Employees Care by Helping Others (ECHO), completed its second successful fundraising cycle, raising $100,000 for the Children’s Hospital Asthma, Allergy and Clinical Immunology Renovation Project.
