Check out the CBC Presents TD Kids Book Club To celebrate the joy of reading, CBC has partnered with TD Canadian Children’s Book Week to create a contest just for elementary school students! But the deadline is fast approaching for classes to enter the CBC Presents TD Kids Bookclub. There are some really great prizes for the winning classroom, including a visit from an author chosen by you and free passes for all the students in your class to visit the Manitoba Children’s Museum! CBC Presents TD Kids Bookclub is an excellent way to promote reading in your school and to get your students involved in a fun and interactive way! Check out the CBC website for more details about the contest and to see which authors you could meet! More than one class per school is eligible to enter. The contest deadline is October 4, 2009. ChooChoo’s Blog: TD Canada Trust Book Sale Wow - what a great Friday! Yesterday over the lunch hour the TD Canada Trust branch at 201 Portage Avenue held a used book sale in support of the Manitoba Children’s Museum - in particular to raise funds for next year’s I Love to Read Month activities which are sure to be even better than this past year thanks to their efforts! So…how did things go at the frontline? MCM’s Director of Development Janet McLeod was at the sale and managed to capture a few photos of the action, while TD’s Amanda Marsch reported that people “LOVED the idea of the book sale and are already asking when the next one will be” - so much so, that they’ve decided this will become an ongoing customer connection event for their branch! If you’re a TD Financial Group customer, a Winnipeg Square shopper, or simply a book fan, you’ll want to keep your eyes peeled for a future sales event which Amanda reports will likely happen within the next two months. In the meantime, feel free to donate your gently-used books to the TD Canada Trust branch at 201 Portage Avenue. This first book sale raised almost $500 for the Manitoba Children’s Museum - and at $1/each, you can bet all of those hundreds of books will provide great new experiences in the hands of their new owners!!!
